1. Mysore Palace:
- Mysore palace is one of the very ancient building, belonging to wadiyar dynasty king Krishna Rajendar Wodeyar.
- It was burnt during the year 1897 on the occasion of princess Jayalakhsmi's wedding.
- It was rebuilt with dramatic wooden design and interiors, on an approximate estimation of 42 lakhs.
- The style of Mysore palace architecture is an Indo-Saracenic combination of Hindu, Muslim, Rajput and Gothic culture.
- This massive palace is designed by the British Architect Henry Irving.
- When you visit the Mysore Palace, you can feel the phenomenal touch of royal paintings, ornaments, costumes, souvenirs, weapons, etc.
- After Tajmahal, this palace is placing the top on huge number of visitors every year. The survey says, around 6 million peoples are visiting Mysore palace over the year.
- During the Dasara festival, 10 days the entire palace is decorated and various parades will be conducted.

3. St.Philomena's Church:
- Comparably, the other place you should visit in Mysore is St.Philomena's Cathedral (St.Joseph's Church).
- It was constructed in the year of 1843 for the British Officers and soldiers in Mysore and Srirangapatna.
- When you visit this St.Philomena'S Church, you will be surely attracted by the Neo-gothic style of architecture.
- It was built by a French Architect in German style with high turrets.
- This church was dedicated to St.Philomena, a Grecian Princess.
- Inside the church, there is an altar with a statue of saint and christ.
- Above the altar, there are stained glass windows depicting stories from the bible.

4. Srirangapatna Fort:
- Srirangapatna Fort or Tippu Sultan Fort is located 20 kms away from Mysore.
- Srirangapatna is a Mysore capital during the time of Hyder Ali and Tippu Sultan.
- It was built by Timmanna Nayaka in 1454.
- This fort had Lal Mahal and Tippu Palace, which was demolished during the British capture of1799.

5. Brindavan Garden:
- Brindavan Garden is situated below Krishnaraja (KRS) dam around 60 acres in Mandya District.
- The design look of Brindavan Garden is based on Shalimar Garden of Kashmir.
- The highlight of this Garden is Musical Fountain, which is played in evening.
- Next to the Brindavan Garden, you can also visit fruit Archid and horticultural farms.
6. Bird Sanctuary:
- The scenic beauty of bird sanctuary is placed in the Mandya District of Karnataka State.
- It is the largest bird sanctuary in the state covers land surface of 40 acres.
- It comprises six islets on the bank of the river cauvery.
- It is located 3 kms away from the Srirangapatna fort.
- In this sanctuary, approximately 170 bird spieces are there.
- This bird sanctuary is maintained by the Forest Department of Karnataka.
7. Chamundi Hills:
- Chamundi Hills is considered as the landmark of mysore city.
- This hill is famous for the Chamundeswari temple located at the top with chola style tower.
- Also, Mahabaleshwari temple is placed next to the Chamundeswari temple.
- Apart from the temple, you can see the entire city which is an awesome viewpoint of Chamundi Hill.
